$2,000 T&T CAD Scholarship

The Trinidad and Tobago Cultural Association of Delaware (TTCAD) is offering multiple scholarships of up to $2,000 each, to college-bound students.

TTCAD is committed to youth development through its scholarship program which is available to Delaware high school graduates of Caribbean descent.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be of Caribbean descent
  • Be a Delaware resident who is a 2018 high school graduate
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Be accepted into an accredited university or college for the fall semester
  • Submit a 500-word essay & letter of recommendation
  • Attend one or more interviews with the TTCAD scholarship panelist
  • Attend TTCAD’s Award Ceremony, held on the last Saturday in September.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • Have been accepted into a College or University in a country outside of one’s Home Country (Home Country determined by the issued passport).
  • Have a US equivalent of a High School diploma from an accredited High School and a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
  • A TOEFL of 61, or IELTS of 5.5.
  • Submit either SAT or ACT scores, as an inbound applicant to the US, if not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.
  • Studying for a minimum of one full year at the university or college.
  • Have a Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number at the time of award if not included on the application.
  • Write an original 500 word (or less) essay on “Your Life’s Goals” and how this scholarship will assist in attaining those goals.

The Annual Scholarship award is designed to help highly motivated students overcome one of the biggest challenges of their career – the cost of graduate studies.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • Between the ages of 23 and 32 at the time of submitting the application
  • A graduating senior from a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university
  • Enrolling in a full-time Master’s degree program starting August/September 2018
